In August 2026, efforts to address cancer mortality in Chile progressed through both civil society and government initiatives. In the Biobío region, a 100 billion CLP Macroregional Oncology Center is planned for Concepción to provide high-complexity services like radiotherapy. The national goal is to ensure all regions have access to complex oncological services by 2035 and to increase the number of linear accelerators for teletherapy from 19 to 24 by 2030.
