Casablanca Finance City development
Overview
Casablanca Finance City (CFC) has seen significant growth in its global standing, rising 11 places to rank 38th in the 40th edition of the Global Financial Centres Index. It currently holds the position of the highest-ranked financial center in Africa and ranks third within the Africa and Middle East region, following Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Building on this momentum, Morocco is pursuing a strategic ambition to establish Casablanca as a major financial hub for West Africa, positioning it to compete with European centers such as Madrid and Barcelona. To advance this goal, the CFC hosted the second Casablanca Business Forum under the theme ‘The next economic chapter of Africa’. The forum brought together various leaders and academics to discuss African economic and digital sovereignty, with some observers suggesting the city aims to eventually become an ‘African Davos’.
