Catamarca municipal land regularization program

The Municipality of the Capital in Catamarca, led by Mayor Gustavo Saadi, is conducting a land regularization program to provide definitive property titles to local families. The initiative is entirely funded by the city government and aims to benefit more than 200 families across various urban sectors.

In mid-October, the program delivered 15 property titles to families in the Altos de Choya neighborhood. This process was intended to grant residents full legal ownership, enabling them to secure their heritage and access formal credit. The municipal administration noted a political contrast with the provincial government, as community leaders have criticized the provincial Ministry of Housing for delays in similar programs.

By late October, the municipality completed a subsequent round of adjudications in Altos de Choya, delivering 17 deeds to families who have occupied the municipal lands for decades. Following previous distributions in the Papa Francisco neighborhood, the administration plans to maintain a weekly schedule for these ceremonies as notary protocols are finalized. Future distributions are scheduled for the Portal del Norte II and III neighborhoods.
