Catholic youth religious gatherings in Portugal and Brazil

Overview

Religious youth organizations held various gatherings and seminars across Portugal and Brazil in late October 2026.

In Portugal, events included a meeting by the Carlo Acutis Youth Group in Ribeira Grande focused on revitalizing youth ministry and reaching isolated individuals. In the Santarém region, the Teams of Young People of Our Lady held their annual meeting in Rio Maior, combining spiritual reflection with community service projects like olive harvesting. Additionally, young Franciscans gathered in Santarém for Tau Day 2026 to observe the Franciscan Jubilee.

In Brazil, preparations were announced for the Archdiocesan Seminar of the Base Ecclesial Communities in Socopo, scheduled for November. This seminar aims to implement new evangelization guidelines and prepare for the 16th Interecclesial of the CEBs in 2027.
