CENTCOM multinational attack drone task force

Overview

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has announced the establishment of Task Force Falcon Strike, a multinational and multi-domain unit dedicated to attack drones. Led by U.S. Special Operations Command Central (SOCCENT), the task force integrates personnel from the United States and regional partners to operate unmanned systems across air, surface, and undersea domains.

The initiative focuses on the use of one-way attack drones, or kamikaze drones, as a low-cost, high-volume alternative or supplement to conventional missiles and platforms. This new task force builds upon the foundation of Task Force Scorpion Strike, a specialized unit established nine months prior that achieved milestones such as the first aerial attack drone launch from a U.S. Navy warship and the use of unmanned maritime vessels in regional operations.
