Chaco regional business and healthcare initiatives

The Chaco province in Argentina has initiated efforts to bolster regional commerce and international investment through professional congresses and business rounds.

In late October 2026, the province hosted the 39th National Congress of General Accounting Offices, focusing on public management innovation and the application of artificial intelligence in financial administration. Alongside this, the Resistencia Chamber of Commerce and other economic federations organized a Mercosur-European Union business round to connect local entrepreneurs with international markets, including participants from Paraguay. Governor Leandro Zdero subsequently led the fourth edition of the Regional and International Business Round, where he emphasized the potential of the Mercosur-European Union agreement to provide access to 500 million people and promoted provincial policies such as tax reductions and the privatization of state assets.

Expanding its focus to public services, the Chaco provincial government and the Universidad Nacional del Chaco Austral (UNCAUS) signed agreements in late October 2026 to strengthen the regional healthcare system. Led by Governor Zdero and Health Minister Ricardo Mayol, the initiative aims to coordinate professional training and match graduates with specific vacancies in the public health system. The partnership seeks to leverage the university’s scientific capabilities and focuses on the production of medical supplies to meet evolving provincial sanitary demands. UNCAUS expects to graduate 90 doctors in 2026, a historic figure for the institution.
