Governor Eduardo Ramírez Aguilar’s “Del Olvido a la Prosperidad” programme has expanded its reach across Chiapas throughout 2026, targeting transportation, water access, education, health, civil protection, and gender-focused services. In late July, the governor led a “Jornada por la Paz” in Pantelhó, declaring the municipality had moved into a phase of “peace, prosperity and rule of law.” During this event, he announced new potable water systems for San José del Carmen and La Esmeralda. August saw significant infrastructure investments. In the Sierra Mariscal region, projects in Bella Vista, Chicomuselo, Chiapilla, and San Lucas delivered road segments, electricity upgrades, pedestrian bridges, and water-system pipelines. In Bella Vista, a 1.2-km stretch of the Frontera Comalapa-Chicomuselo road was opened with an investment of over 14.6 million pesos. In Chicomuselo, infrastructure spending exceeded 53 million pesos, including an electricity-distribution upgrade and a 20-million-peso pedestrian bridge. Chiapilla received a new potable water system for Lázaro Cárdenas and road reconstruction valued at over 36.6 million pesos, alongside school media equipment. In San Lucas, a sports complex rehabilitation cost over 11.8 million pesos. Further expansion in August reached Ixtacomitán, Ixhuatán, and Tapalapa. In Ixtacomitán, paving works and school improvements were launched, while Ixhuatán began construction on the 23.3-million-peso Chapayal Peace Bridge. In Tapalapa, the administration delivered the rehabilitated Rayón-Pantepec-Tapalapa road, an 11.9-million-peso project. In the Mezcalapa region, paving and electrical grid improvements in Ocotepec and Tecpatán involved an investment exceeding 84 million pesos. The governor also supervised progress on the 165-kilometer Palenque-Ocosingo highway, known as the ‘Ruta de las Culturas Mayas’. Additionally, the administration launched reinforced public health actions to combat dengue and other arboviruses statewide. In Tuxtla Gutiérrez, the governor announced an upcoming increase in financial support for the ‘Cuidar es Amar’ program, which assists caregivers for family members.
