In São Paulo, the investigation into the death of a four-month-old infant in Santos remains active, with the father currently a fugitive. In Belém, the mother of Marcello Victor Carvalho de Araújo is demanding the conclusion of an investigation into her son’s death, which occurred during a Federal Police operation.

As the case approaches one year since the incident, Ana Suellen Carvalho de Araújo is publicly demanding accountability regarding the death of her son, Marcello, a 24-year-old administrative assistant for the Pará Civil Police. Marcello was killed on October 8, 2025, during ‘Operação Eclesiastes,’ a Federal Police operation targeting an organization suspected of international drug trafficking and money laundering. While the Federal Police stated that Marcello reacted to the approach by assaulting an officer and attempting to seize a weapon, the family contests this version. A necropsy report indicated that Marcello was struck by two shots, one of which was from a rifle.

Previous reports noted the rescue of an 11-year-old in Acre following physical abuse, the recovery of two teenagers' bodies from a shallow grave in Mossoró, and the rescue of children in unsanitary conditions in Campo Grande. Additionally, Paraná’s specialized Missing Children Investigation Service (SICRIDE) has maintained a resolution rate exceeding 98% for missing child cases.
