Chile health facility construction
Entities: IMSS‑Bienestar · Ricardo Gerardo Guerrero Morales · Hospital General de Madero · CESFAM Pompeya · May Chomali
Overview
In late July 2026 Chile continued expanding its public health infrastructure. On 23 July officials in Valparaíso presented plans for a new primary‑care centre in the 30 de Marzo neighbourhood. The 2,700‑square‑metre facility will replace a 1978‑era CESFAM, expand capacity to about 20,000 patients and house clinical, dental, vaccination and rehabilitation services.
A week later, the Ministry of Health reported that the new Hospital de Parral in the Maule region was 97.5 % complete, featuring 121 beds, surgical suites, a dialysis unit and advanced imaging, and is slated to open in the second half of the year. In the Valparaíso region, work on the CESFAM Pompeya in Quilpué progressed to the design stage, with a 2,324‑square‑metre centre projected to serve roughly 20,000 residents once funding is secured. Together, these updates illustrate Chile's ongoing investment in both hospital‑level and primary‑care facilities across multiple regions.
