The Chinese humanoid robotics sector is advancing through massive infrastructure investments and a strategic shift toward industrial and service applications. To address training needs, the Shijingshan Humanoid Robot Data Training Center in Beijing utilizes 100 robots to generate approximately 29,000 hours of data annually to develop an ‘embodied brain’. Manufacturing capabilities are scaling rapidly. Expanding its industrial footprint, UBTECH has entered a strategic partnership with FAW-Volkswagen to develop and test humanoid robots for factory logistics. This collaboration aims to utilize embodied AI to automate the repetitive movement of components and materials, building on previous trials where UBTECH’s Walker S Lite was used for quality inspections. The partnership focuses on creating demonstration sites to evaluate robotic solutions for smart manufacturing and flexible production processes.
