This shift involves moving away from traditional mechanical components toward seven core technological areas, including batteries, motors, electronic controls, chips, computing power, perception, and intelligent systems.

Production is increasingly defined by highly integrated vertical value chains and advanced manufacturing techniques. Gigafactories utilize selective automation for hazardous or quality-critical tasks, guided by overall equipment effectiveness to balance human and machine roles. Some manufacturers are implementing “super factories” that incorporate digital twin technology and integrated die-casting to enhance efficiency.

This evolution is supported by a highly integrated ecosystem, such as the “four-hour industrial circle” in the Yangtze River Delta. This regional synergy allows manufacturers to source essential components—ranging from semiconductors and software to batteries—within a short distance, redefining production standards through integrated supply chains.
