Chuang sisters reconcile after public family dispute

Overview

A public dispute emerged between sisters Chuang Sze-man and Chuang Sze-wah following the death of their mother, Jiang Yuzhu, in August 2026.

The conflict was triggered by Chuang Sze-man’s appearance on the program ‘Xuan Zhan’, where she participated in a spiritual medium session. During the recording, a medium named Angel relayed messages purportedly from Chuang Sze-man’s late mother regarding her love for her daughter and concerns for her younger brother. Chuang Sze-man expressed that the messages felt accurate.

Chuang Sze-wah subsequently used social media to dismiss the session as entertainment and contested the accuracy of the messages, noting they contradicted their mother’s final words. She also argued that the narrative regarding the family’s caregiving burdens was inaccurate and called for respect for the family’s privacy.

In late September 2026, Chuang Sze-man confirmed that she and her sister have reconciled. Speaking at a recent event, she stated that the sisters have maintained communication and characterized the disagreement as a “minor matter.” She noted that expressing their emotions allowed them to move past the incident without holding grudges.

Following the controversy, Chuang Sze-man indicated she intends to avoid discussing private family matters in public forums in the future. She also addressed separate comments regarding her late father’s past legal issues, stating she has no desire to revisit those matters.
