Citibank campus shooting in Florida

Overview

On November 4, 2026, a shooting occurred at the Citibank Center corporate complex in Brandon, near Tampa, Florida. The suspect, identified as 35-year-old Jacob Pearson, allegedly drove a vehicle into an outdoor dining area before opening fire with a rifle.

The attack resulted in the death of 41-year-old employee Leanne Selman. Four other individuals were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. During an exchange of gunfire in a cafeteria, a Citibank security employee, identified as 38-year-old John Fraley, shot and killed the suspect.

Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister stated the attack appeared to be a targeted incident. Investigators believe the motive was related to a delinquent credit card debt of approximately $2,500. Authorities reported that Pearson had allegedly made violent threats involving an AR-15 rifle and body armor to a law firm contracted by Citibank earlier that morning.
