Overview
In late July 2026 the Junta Municipal de Agua y Saneamiento (JMAS) of Ciudad Juárez carried out a series of infrastructure operations. On 26 July the agency closed the low‑speed lane of Avenida De las Torres to finish connecting a drainage pipe that diverts the Talamás‑Camandari collector and to repair a sinkhole on Avenida Ponciano Arriaga, installing replacement pipe and directing traffic via detours.
A few days later, beginning 30 July, JMAS launched a four‑day diversion of a potable‑water line on the same avenue to clear the way for construction of the state‑funded Paso Las Torres–Talamás Camandari bridge. The work installed 700 m of new pipe, a 12‑m PVC segment, and new sanitary discharge connections for nearby factories, completing the earlier drainage phase and preparing the intersection for the bridge’s next stage intended to ease traffic.
