Cocaine seizures in Ecuador

Overview

Ecuadorian police conducted two major raids near the coastal city of Manta in the Manabí province, resulting in the seizure of approximately 2.93 tons of cocaine.

In the first operation, authorities used explosives to access an underground stash containing 1.51 tons of cocaine. A second raid on the following night uncovered an additional 1.41 tons. Interior Minister John Reimberg attributed the narcotics to the Los Choneros criminal organization, with estimated values ranging from 75.7 million to 104 million euros.
