CoinShares stablecoin strategy and share repurchase
Overview
CoinShares has introduced managed stablecoin yield strategies designed for enterprise clients using Safe smart accounts. Through a partnership with Railnet, an infrastructure provider owned by Kiln, the OnChain Strategies business allows users to access decentralized finance positions and tokenized real-world assets while maintaining full self-custody of their funds. Eligible users, including the Ethereum Foundation and Circle, can access these services via Safe’s Earn widget.
In addition to these product launches, the CoinShares Board of Directors approved a $40 million share repurchase program to be funded by existing digital asset treasury resources. To facilitate this, the company sold 16.6 million Ethereum and 50% of its 2.7 million Solana holdings. The Board stated that repurchasing shares is a more attractive use of capital than retaining digital asset holdings at current valuation levels. The program is authorized until the company’s next Annual General Meeting, expected in Q2 2027.
