Collecting exhibitions in Mérida, Spain
Overview
In late September 2026, Mérida, Spain, hosted the 64th National Philatelic Exhibition (EXFILNA 2026). Organized by Correos and the Spanish Federation of Philatelic Societies, the event featured philatelic displays, workshops, and historical mail delivery demonstrations. To commemorate the exhibition, Correos released new stamps and souvenir sheets related to the city’s Roman heritage, such as the Temple of Diana and the ‘As Augusta Emerita’ coin.
Following this, the II International Collecting Fair of Emerita Augusta was held at the Mérida Fair Institution (Ifeme). This larger-scale event drew thousands of international visitors and featured over 160 exhibitors. While the previous event focused on philately, this fair showcased a broad spectrum of collectibles, including ancient coins, minerals, fossils, toys, and pop culture items such as Pokémon and video games.
