Colo Colo contract renewal negotiations

Aníbal Mosa, president of Blanco y Negro, has adopted a cautious approach regarding contract renewals for key personnel at Colo Colo. In August, Mosa stated that discussions for players like Arturo Vidal would not occur until the end of the current season, asserting, “I am not going to place anyone above the institution.” He noted that the club must first determine its final standing and future competition participation after the championship concludes in December.

By September, Mosa reiterated this stance, emphasizing that the club will not rush negotiations until championship objectives are met. Using the metaphor, “When the pig is already cooked inside the oven, then we can talk,” he indicated that while the team holds a significant lead in the standings, focus must remain on matches rather than off-field negotiations. Mosa identified coach Fernando Ortiz as a primary renewal priority once goals are achieved, while maintaining that discussions regarding Vidal and other players will wait until trophies are secured.
