Colombia bilateral cooperation agreements

Overview

Colombia has entered into several bilateral agreements to enhance international mobility and economic ties. In September 2026, Colombia and Chile launched a cooperation strategy for the mutual recognition of professional competency certificates, facilitated by the Colombian Ministry of Labor, SENA, and ChileValora. This initiative aims to support labor mobility across 14 different professional profiles.

In October 2026, Colombia expanded its international cooperation through agreements with Switzerland. A Memorandum of Understanding between ProColombia and Switzerland Global Enterprise was signed to strengthen commercial exchange, promote joint investment, and facilitate the entry of Colombian goods and services into the Swiss market. Additionally, a Binational Social Security Convention was established, allowing workers to combine their service time and contributions between both nations to meet requirements for retirement, disability, or survivor pensions.
