Overview

Following a 7.4 magnitude earthquake in Chocó, Colombia, on August 10, 2026, reports indicate at least 285 deaths and 379 missing persons. The Mexican Embassy has confirmed that two Mexican nationals remain missing in Pereira.

A diplomatic and logistical dispute has emerged regarding international relief efforts.
