Columbia Basin Trust regional investment and grants
Overview
The Columbia Basin Trust has reported significant regional investments and the launch of new sustainability initiatives.
In its 2025/26 Annual Service Plan Report, the Trust detailed $105 million in direct benefits delivered to the region, consisting of $81 million in grants and initiatives and $24 million in investments for business loans, broadband, and commercial real estate. The organization reported $113.6 million in revenue and an annual surplus of $42.6 million, noting that $42.4 million of those results stemmed from gains on financial assets.
Following these financial results, the Trust launched two new granting programs: Farm Solar and Resilient Food Crops. The Farm Solar program assists food producers with installing solar arrays to reduce energy costs for irrigation and climate control. The Resilient Food Crops program supports producers in trialing new crop varieties to adapt to a shifting climate and stabilize the local food system.
