Community and environmental funding in Valparaíso

Various community and environmental funding initiatives have been announced for organizations in the Valparaíso Region of Chile.

In early September, Esval extended the application deadline for its tenth annual “Contigo en Cada Gota” contestable fund to October 4. The program, which allocated $100 million to support community initiatives, allows non-profit social organizations to apply for up to $2.5 million for projects involving sustainable development, infrastructure, and water management. The fund also includes provisions for academic and scientific research.

By October, additional funding opportunities emerged. Sopraval launched its final 2026 call for the ‘Fondo Vecino’ (Neighbor Fund), offering between 500,000 and 1,000,000 pesos for equipment or infrastructure improvements in seven specific communes. Concurrently, the SEREMI of the Environment announced the 2027 Environmental Protection Fund (FPA), providing up to 6 million pesos for projects focused on climate change, biodiversity, and waste management. This call is open to various groups, including indigenous communities and educational establishments, with a deadline of October 14.
