Community service outreach programs in Brazil

Overview

Community outreach initiatives across Brazil are providing free essential public services to facilitate access to documentation and legal support for local populations.

In Porto Velho, the ‘Cidadania em Movimento’ project, organized by the Municipal Secretariat for Inclusion and Social Assistance (Semias), delivered over 500 services across rural and urban areas. These services included health assistance, legal guidance, and the issuance of various identification documents, such as youth IDs and cards for persons with disabilities. The Rondônia Court of Justice also participated by offering guidance on family and alimony matters.

Similar programs are operating in other regions, such as the ‘CAC Itinerante’ in Itatiaia, Ouro Branco, which offers consumer protection and women’s rights support. In Cruzeiro do Sul, the Tribunal de Justiça do Acre (TJAC) conducted its ‘Projeto Cidadão’ initiative, providing over 100 services including document updates for children and assistance for victims of domestic violence.
