Nigerian singer Speed Darlington has recently drawn public attention through both unconventional employment announcements and allegations of financial misconduct.

The role included unique requirements, such as the candidate being prepared to defend him during physical confrontations and possessing enough familiarity with Burna Boy’s music to prevent him from dancing to it, which the singer characterized as “long face” music.

By October 2026, the singer faced accusations of financial exploitation from former associates. His former manager, Goski, ended a four-year professional relationship, alleging he received only ₦250,000 despite facilitating a ₦30 million deal. Goski noted that the absence of a formal contract resulted in unfair treatment regarding a promised six percent share of jobs.
