Corridor Vc motorway construction in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Overview

A new 20-kilometer section of the Corridor Vc motorway, connecting Zenica North to Golubinja near Žepče, has been completed. The project involved four sub-sections and required complex engineering, with tunnels and bridges comprising nearly 75 percent of the route, including the Bosna and Zenica tunnels.

While the section has been ceremonially inaugurated and a usage permit has been issued, the highway remains closed to traffic. Officials stated that motorists cannot yet use the route pending the finalization of legal and administrative procedures to ensure all permits are legally binding. Once open, the segment is expected to reduce travel times between Sarajevo and Doboj. The construction of these sub-sections represented a total investment of 419 million euros, funded by various international financial institutions including the EBRD, EIB, Kuwait Fund, and OPEC Fund, alongside EU grants.
