Cosmological black hole universe hypothesis
Overview
Physicist Nikodem Poplawski of the University of New Haven has proposed a hypothesis suggesting that our universe may exist inside a black hole located within a larger ‘parent’ universe. This theory posits that black holes may facilitate the creation of new, enclosed universes rather than serving as the end of matter and light.
Researchers are revisiting this theory due to observed cosmic asymmetries. Data from the James Webb Space Telescope and studies of spiral galaxies indicate that galaxy rotation may not be randomly distributed. Specifically, an analysis of 263 galaxies by Lior Shamir of Kansas State University suggests that approximately two-thirds rotate in a counter-clockwise direction when viewed from Earth. While these findings indicate a preferred rotational direction, researchers note that the pattern does not yet provide a confirmed explanation and the hypothesis remains theoretical.
