China Chengxin International (CCXI) affirmed the African Export-Import Bank’s (Afreximbank) AAA issuer credit rating with a stable outlook. CCXI attributed this to the bank’s strategic positioning, risk management, and liquidity management. Afreximbank’s Managing Director of Treasury and Markets, Chandi Mwenebungu, noted the rating endorses the institution’s ability to support member states and mobilize capital, following the bank’s expansion into Chinese capital markets.

Separately, Moody’s affirmed an A3 credit rating for the African Finance Corporation (AFC). The agency cited the AFC’s resilient solvency position, bolstered by capital injections from shareholders, and robust asset performance. The AFC continues to facilitate infrastructure projects, such as the Lobito Corridor connecting Angola, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Zambia.
