Crime and police operations in Hungary and Romania

Law enforcement in Hungary and Romania have conducted several operations resulting in various arrests for violent and property crimes.

In Hungary, a high-speed chase involving a driver under the influence of cocaine and THC resulted in a collision with a utility pole and minor injuries to four police officers.

Recent reports indicate further criminal and traffic incidents. In Hungary, a high-speed chase near Tihany involving a driver on Austrian plates, under the influence of cocaine and THC, ended in Balatonfüred when the suspect crashed into a utility pole. The individual faces charges including violence against officials. Other Hungarian traffic incidents include a severe crash in Kaposvár involving a 20-year-old, a collision in Nagyrécse that caused a vehicle fire and one serious injury, and a collision in Hódmezővásárhely involving a University of Szeged electric minibus.

In Romania, a 25-year-old man led police on a chase in Kolozsvár after stealing a car, striking two vehicles and a pedestrian. Additionally, in Maroshévíz, two men were arrested for allegedly attacking a taxi driver and stealing his vehicle.
