Crime incidents in Düsseldorf and Vienna

Overview

In late September, police in Düsseldorf arrested a 22-year-old man for the theft of a suitcase from an ICE train. The victim, a 54-year-old, tracked part of his property, allowing authorities to identify the suspect via video footage. The stolen goods were valued at approximately 4,300 euros. While the suspect was released due to a lack of grounds for detention, criminal proceedings for a serious case of theft were initiated.

By late October, police reported further criminal activity in both Vienna and Düsseldorf. In Vienna, authorities sought two teenagers following a hotel robbery in the Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus district, where a receptionist was allegedly threatened with an electric shocker. In Düsseldorf, police responded to an attempted robbery at an ATM where a 17-year-old suspect was apprehended after striking a victim. Additionally, a 39-year-old man was arrested in the Kö area for breaking into vehicles to steal electronics and debit cards.
