Criminal investigations in Denmark
Overview
Danish authorities have conducted several criminal investigations involving fraud, robbery, and assault.
In early September, police arrested a 24-year-old Swedish national in Copenhagen suspected of contact fraud. The individual allegedly impersonated bank officials via phone calls and SMS to manipulate citizens into transferring money and approving MitID payments. Additionally, a 20-year-old man was remanded in custody in Holstebro as the final suspect in a group of four charged with robbery, aggravated assault, and the eight-day captivity of a victim. The group is accused of using a metal baseball bat and a hot pan during the alleged assault.
Subsequent police activity included the remand of two individuals in connection with a series of burglaries and the deployment of forensic technicians to investigate a serious assault.
