Criminal investigations involving firearms in Argentina

Recent police activity in Argentina has involved multiple investigations into firearm-related crimes in different regions.

In General Rodríguez, the Buenos Aires Provincial Police conducted three raids targeting singer Elián Valenzuela, known as L-Gante, and his associates. The investigation follows a complaint from a 23-year-old tenant who alleged she was intimidated by Valenzuela and a man identified as ‘El Oso’—identified as the singer’s uncle—using firearms to demand she vacate a property on 25 de Octubre Street.

According to reports, the complainant stated that after ‘El Oso’ made the initial demand, Valenzuela and a group of approximately ten people allegedly entered the property by force. The raids, ordered by the Moreno-General Rodríguez Judicial Department, targeted two homes within the Terravista country club and one private residence. Authorities seized three mobile phones for forensic analysis. While a BMW X5 luxury vehicle believed to have been used during the incident was identified, it remained in the singer's custody per the prosecutor's instructions. Investigators are utilizing security camera footage to reconstruct vehicle movements and identify those involved. Valenzuela and another individual have been formally notified of charges including aggravated threats with firearms, coercion, and trespassing.

In General Roca, authorities conducted three raids in response to a series of shootings on September 9 that resulted in the death of 19-year-old Mauricio Sebastián Molinez and left Maximiliano Andrés Iraira in critical condition. During these searches, police seized a 14-gauge shotgun and various cartridges, leading to legal proceedings against a property owner for alleged illegal possession of weapons.
