Criminal sentencing for abuse in the Netherlands

Overview

Dutch courts have issued several sentences related to violent and sexual misconduct involving vulnerable individuals.

In August 2026, the Den Bosch Court of Appeal upheld a 12-year prison sentence for a German man following a sulfuric acid attack and an attempted arson in Burgh-Haamstede.
