Cruise industry expansion in Florida

The cruise industry in Florida is expanding through new itineraries and membership models. PortMiami has announced a diverse ship lineup for the 2026-2027 season, featuring luxury, expedition, and mainstream brands such as Ponant Explorations, Explora Journeys, Silversea, Azamara, Four Seasons, Carnival, and Norwegian. The Hero of the Seas is also scheduled to arrive in August 2027.

Margaritaville at Sea has announced 30 itineraries for 2028, covering 25 destinations including Key West, Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Belize, and various locations in the Bahamas and Mexico. These plans include two new ports of call and themed voyages like the Mardi Gras celebration in New Orleans and the Sail the Haunted Seas Halloween and Day of the Dead cruise.

To support growth, Margaritaville at Sea introduced a 2027 Annual Cruise Membership. Priced starting at $2,499 for two adults, with a discounted $1,999 rate for returning Paradise Pass holders, the program provides unlimited eligible sailings through the end of 2027. The membership covers fares for staterooms up to the Breezy Balcony category on the Paradise, Islander, and the new Beachcomber, though guests must pay taxes and fees. The Beachcomber will sail from PortMiami and, starting in October 2027, the Port of Galveston.

Additionally, the company announced its Very Merry Margaritaville holiday celebration running from late November 2026 to early January 2027. Aboard the Paradise and Islander, guests will have access to themed entertainment, seasonal dining, and family activities during sailings to the Bahamas, Key West, and Mexico.
