Cultural and artistic activities in Latin America and Spain

Cultural programming across Latin America and Spain continues to emphasize regional identity, heritage, and community engagement through specialized festivals and interdisciplinary projects.

In Argentina, immigrant-themed celebrations remain prominent. The 46th National Immigrant Festival in Oberá recently inaugurated a new Events and Exhibitions Hall at the Parque de las Naciones. Other significant gatherings include the Fiesta de las Colectividades in Resistencia, Chaco, which hosted 32 ethnic groups, and large-scale celebrations in Ushuaia and Olavarría. Localized events also include the FRICC 2026 in Ituzaingó and gastronomic fairs in Escobar. Notably, the Spring Festival in Trenque Lauquen has transitioned its format toward workshops and educational activities.

Dance and multiculturalism also drive regional activity. The eighth EntreDanzados International Encounter is set for La Falda from September 10 to 14, 2026. Themed ‘De Bailarines para Bailarines’, the event expects 800 participants from across South America and features musical guests like Lucio ‘Indio’ Rojas. In Chile, the Festival de Colectividades Extranjeras is returning to Antofagasta after an eight-year hiatus. The 33rd edition, scheduled for November, will feature representatives from 11 countries and is supported by regional funding exceeding 250 million pesos.

In Uruguay, cultural traditions include the 5th National Sausage Festival in Pan de Azúcar and the annual March to Masoller, a horseback procession honoring General Aparicio Saravia.
