Cultural and artistic initiatives in Italy and San Marino
Overview
Various cultural and artistic programs are being implemented across the region. In San Marino, the Dogana Social Center is launching a five-week painting course for children aged 8 to 12 titled ‘Luci e ombre colorate’. Led by artist Cristiana Guidi, the program begins on November 11, 2026, and focuses on light and color observation using dry artistic chalks.
In Italy, urban art projects are being used to revitalize the Ormus Galleries in San Benedetto. To combat neglect and insecurity, Antonio Orione and the Asteras association have initiated a redevelopment plan through the Urban Fest. Artists including Crisa, Riccardo Mussone, and Sara Abad are creating murals centered on inclusivity, with plans to utilize twelve designated art spaces.
Other regional activities include:
In Bari, the fifth International Manibus Prize will be presented at the Petruzzelli Theatre on November 1 to recognize excellence in manual labor and craftsmanship. This event is co-financed by the European Union, the Italian Republic, and the Puglia Region.
In Torino, the Breaking Jail Preview project at Giardini Sambuy concludes its focus on prison economy and professional reintegration. Meanwhile, the Teatro Regio is hosting an exhibition of historical documents and sketches related to Ruggiero Leoncavallo until November 22.
Additional highlights include a San Miniato exhibition at Palazzo Grifoni opening November 6, featuring rare Leonardo da Vinci documents regarding Renaissance theater. Other events include Pep Marchegiani’s “Pelle” installation in Chieti, a photography exhibition by Sabina Ugolini in Fano, and the AICS “Energie in movimento” exhibition in Martignacco.
