Cultural and educational activities in Ciudad Juárez

Overview

Ciudad Juárez hosted several cultural and educational initiatives during the summer of 2026.

In late July, the city launched the 44th Festival de Teatro de la Ciudad. Organized by the Instituto para la Cultura del Municipio de Juárez (IPACULT), the festival featured local theatre productions at the Auditorio Cívico Municipal Benito Juárez. One notable performance, ‘¡Violencia!’ by the company Páramo 9, addressed themes of loneliness and internal conflict.

Following the festival, the 2026 Cultural Summer Camp concluded after a two-week program. This collaborative effort between the State Government's Secretariat of Finance and the Autonomous University of Ciudad Juárez (UACJ) provided over 100 children with workshops in music, dance, painting, and biology. The program ended with a showcase of the participants' skills at the UACJ's Gracia Pasquel Theater.
