Cultural and film events in Lusophone regions
Overview
Cultural and cinematic events are being held across Lusophone regions, including Angola, Mozambique, and Portugal.
In mid-September, KinoYetu hosted a film session in Luanda, Angola, dedicated to the career of director Mariano Bartolomeu. The program, titled ‘Mariano Bartolomeu: Um Cinema Limpo e Iluminado’, featured four films produced in Angola, Cuba, and the United States. Concurrently, the film ‘O Ancoradouro do Tempo’ by Sol de Carvalho was screened on Mozambique Island to celebrate the territory’s anniversary.
By early October, cultural activities expanded to include a variety of events in Luanda, such as the ‘Miss Angola Universo’ gala and the ‘Jazz Segundo Gospel’ concert. In Lisbon, Portugal, the 17th edition of the FESTin (Festival de Cinema Itinerante da Língua Portuguesa) commenced, offering free screenings to mark the 30th anniversary of the CPLP.
