Romania and Moldova continue to host diverse cultural, musical, and gastronomic events aimed at preserving regional heritage. In Romania, Bihor County is expanding its traditional celebrations through the second edition of ‘Higheghe și vin’. Supported by the Bihor County Council, this event features music and folk dance across Marghita, Oradea, and Beiuș, with a focus on revitalizing community traditions through highghiși musicians from the Crișuri region. In Marghita, festivities at Eroilor Park coincide with Beiuș, the ‘Gusturi și tradiții DE BIHOR’ festival, showcasing local crafts and traditional dishes such as sarmale and bean goulash. Other regional programming includes the Ruga Timișoarei in Timișoara, the ‘Small Week of Old Music’ in Sighișoara, and various autumn fairs in Brașov and Bistrița. In Moldova, Prime Minister Vasile Tofan has integrated cultural preservation with regional economic development. During working visits to the Taraclia district and the Gagauzia Autonomous Territorial Unit, Tofan addressed urgent development, addressing infrastructure needs, specifically identifying a needs like the water crisis where wells and boreholes are drying up. He also emphasized the necessity of free in Taraclia and transparent elections to establish a functional People's Assembly to overcome political stagnation. On the economic front, Tofan met Gagauzia, while meeting with business leaders from companies such as Milina, Bas Steel Profile, and Banzai to discuss fiscal policy and the reduction of bureaucratic barriers. Local representatives highlighted challenges such as export delays caused by repetitive certification processes.
