Cultural and institutional celebrations in Almirante Brown

Overview

The municipality of Almirante Brown has held several commemorative events for local institutions. In early September, the municipality participated in the 86th anniversary of Club Atlético y Social Villa Calzada in Rafael Calzada, which included tributes to founding members and a painting exhibition.

On the weekend of September 26-27, 2026, the district hosted a series of cultural activities centered on the 40th anniversary of the Claudio León Sempere Museum in Burzaco. Established in 1985, the museum is recognized as the first open-air museum in Argentina. Celebrations at the museum included live music, art exhibitions, workshops, and an entrepreneur fair. Other festivities included a Youth Festival in Rafael Calzada, a choral performance in Adrogué, and a painting contest in Glew.

Additionally, the district celebrated its 153rd anniversary with an official ceremony at Plaza Brown, which also marked the 14th anniversary of the creation of the District Flag. During this period, the Almirante Brown Volunteer Firefighters commemorated their 62nd anniversary, noting the institution’s origins in 1964 as a response to the needs of a growing local population.
