Cultural and literary events in Romania

Overview

Romania is hosting a series of cultural and literary events throughout late August and September 2026.

In Pitești, the Centrul Cultural Pitești scheduled a program for August 24–29 featuring lectures, book launches, and the 11th PITART International Plastic Creation Camp vernissage. In Bucharest, the ‘Grădina cu Cărți’ initiative was set for September 11–13, offering book stands, public readings, and workshops.

Following these events, the 16th edition of the Bucharest International Poetry Festival is scheduled for September 14–20. Themed ‘Slow Gun Poetry / Poezie cu bătaie lungă’, the festival aims to use poetry for dialogue and empathy to counter language used for division. The program includes over 50 events with participants from nearly 20 countries.
