Cultural festivals in La Laguna
Overview
In late September and October 2026, La Laguna hosts various cultural and community celebrations. The Orígenes World Music & Latidos Fest, supported by the Aguere City Council, features performances at the Convento de Santo Domingo, including artists Mariaa Siga and Coumbis Sorra, with a focus on African music and its connections to modern experimentation.
Other scheduled festivities for the third weekend of October include local traditions such as a tortilla contest, Latin music festivals, and children's activities in Barrio El Pilar. Religious and cultural events are also planned, including the Fiestas de Nuestra Señora del Rosario in Valle de Guerra, celebrations in Valle Tabares involving a marathon and verbena, and festivities for la Virgen de la Peña del Batán featuring parades and folklore.
By early October, these local celebrations in La Laguna are part of a broader wave of cultural and musical events occurring across Spain and Latin America. In Spain, Castelló has commenced Hispanidad celebrations under the theme ‘Todo lo que nos une’, featuring gastronomy and traditional music, while Alcalá de Guadaíra hosted a saxophone concert in Parque Oromana. Other regional activities include a marching band festival in Tlaxcala, Mexico, and various orchestral and tango performances in Argentina.
