Cuneo and Cannes volleyball test match

Overview

A high-level men’s volleyball test match between Cuneo and Cannes is scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 19, at the Palaravizza arena in Alassio, Italy. Starting at 18:30, the event serves as one of the first seasonal outings for both teams to evaluate their form and rosters ahead of their respective league starts: the SuperLega for Cuneo and the French Ligue A for Cannes.

This match serves as the opening event for the 34th Memorial Dado Tessitore and is held in conjunction with the 42nd Sanremo Cup. The event will also feature rhythmic gymnastics performances by local athletes from Asd Move Up during intervals.

Cuneo Volley, entering its second consecutive season in the SuperLega under head coach Matteo Battocchio, features a renewed roster. Notable players include the return of Manuel Coscione, italo-cuban setter Bryan Argilagos, American Ethan Champlin, and 2022 world champion Leandro Mosca. The team also includes international players such as Poriya Khanzadeh from Iran.

Cannes will be led from the bench by Brazilian coach Joao Bravo and features players including Feral, Strehlau, and Loubeyre. The match is scheduled to avoid conflict with the Italian national team's European Championship schedule, as the Italians are set to play in Turin on September 20 or 21.
