By the end of the month, a joint Beroni‑ObservaTUR report confirmed that digital fraud is already affecting the tourism industry. One‑third of surveyed Spanish travel agencies reported at least one fraud attempt in the past year, with a small fraction suffering economic or reputational damage. The study also noted that Argentine travel firms face comparable challenges, underscoring that the rise in cyber threats is not confined to Spain but extends across the region as digitalisation broadens the attack surface for SMEs.
