Czech cycling and trail promotion

On July 25 2026 a local leisure race, the “Závod zrezlých šlapek,” was held in Týnec nad Vltavou. The 15‑km course featured vintage‑styled teams, slalom sections and a finish near the Lužnice, drawing regular cyclists, electric‑bike riders and vintage‑frame enthusiasts, while a tandem‑riding couple from the Třebíč area showcased their long‑term partnership.

The following day, regional officials announced a series of themed cycling routes across the Haná region and around Polička and Bystré. These 30‑ to 35‑km trails link historic sites, castles, nature houses, breweries and cultural landmarks, targeting families and older cyclists and promoting tourism through a blend of outdoor activity, regional history and cuisine.

Later in the week, tourism authorities highlighted a newly opened cycling trail in Haná that winds through historic landscapes and local gastronomy. Promotion also extended to the UNESCO‑listed Lednice‑Valtice Cultural Landscape, the film‑heritage attractions of Poličsko, and long‑distance hiking routes such as the Zlatá stezka and Vintířova stezka across the Český les, Šumavu and the Czech‑Bavarian border, featuring sites like Kašperk Castle and the legacy of Saint Vintíř. The combined initiatives aim to boost visitor numbers, support mental‑well‑being and showcase Czech heritage through active travel.
