Czech tourism travel trends and preferences

Czech tourists exhibit specific preferences regarding accommodation and timing to optimize their travel experiences.

Initially, travelers to Greece demonstrated a strong preference for beachfront hotels, prioritizing convenience for families and ease of access to the shore. Many travelers expressed a willingness to pay a premium for Aegean Sea views, though they were cautioned to distinguish between true beachfront properties and those merely described as ‘near the beach.’

More recently, there has been a shift toward autumn holidays as a method to reduce costs. Travelers are seeking trips during the fall to take advantage of prices that can be up to 30 percent lower than peak summer rates. While Spain remains a top destination, Greece and Egypt also see significant interest. Beyond cost savings, travelers are motivated by more pleasant weather, smaller crowds, and the availability of public holidays in October.

This trend toward off-season travel is expanding to include interest in exotic locations such as Zanzibar and Cambodia, facilitated by new direct flights. Similar patterns are emerging among Slovenian tourists, who are increasingly traveling abroad during the off-season to avoid crowds, with Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Italy, and Austria serving as frequent destinations.
