Czech-Ukrainian economic and reconstruction cooperation
Overview
The Czech Republic is developing initiatives to support the reconstruction of Ukraine, focusing on industrial and energy infrastructure. Initially, Czech Industry and Trade Minister Karel Havlíček proposed a business mission to modernize Ukraine’s energy sector and strengthen its resilience, following the delivery of 35 shipments of energy equipment to the country.
This cooperation has expanded to include formal financial support for Czech companies. The Czech government has activated a loan guarantee program through the Export Guarantee and Insurance Corporation (EGAP), allocating approximately one billion CZK for investment insurance. A delegation representing the mining, energy, healthcare, and construction sectors is scheduled to visit Ukraine in November to facilitate these investments.
