Dance festivals in Colombia

Overview

In late October 2026, the 40th National Folk Dance Festival was held in Belén, Boyacá. Organized by the Mayor’s Office, the event featured over 25 groups from 14 Colombian regions, including Antioquia, Valle del Cauca, and Nariño, with performances held at the Pedro Pascasio Martínez Coliseum.

Following this, the XIX Danza en la Ciudad festival was scheduled to take place in Bogotá from November 6 to 16, 2026. Organized by Idartes under the theme ‘Tejiendo movimiento’, the festival planned to feature approximately 450 artists and over 29 free performances. The lineup included international participants such as the Brazilian company Quasar Cia. de Dança and the Ecuadorian group El Pez Dorado, alongside artists from Medellín and Cali.
