On August 31, 2026, a triple murder occurred at the ‘Češka zbrojevka’ shooting range in Danilovgrad, Montenegro. The victims, identified as instructors Petar Globarević (24), Nemanja Kapor (20), and master instructor Momir Radonjić (67), were shot while at work. Authorities identified the suspect as 30-year-old Russian citizen Mihail Nikolaevič Shabunin. Investigations revealed that Shabunin had built trust with the staff by visiting the range in the days leading up to the attack. On the day of the massacre, he engaged in target practice before entering an office to carry out the killings. Investigators noted that Shabunin displayed high proficiency with firearms, appearing to fire two CZ pistols simultaneously during the attack. During his flight, he reportedly left his passport and phone behind when he could not pay a taxi fare. After an intensive manhunt involving special police units and a Montenegrin military helicopter, Shabunin was located in a forest near the Topla settlement in Herceg Novi. Upon being surrounded by police, he opened fire on officers before committing suicide by a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
