David Bowie immersive exhibition in Venice

Overview

An immersive audiovisual exhibition titled ‘Bowie: Unseen | Unheard’ has debuted in Venice as part of the Venice International Film Festival’s Venice Immersive section. The installation features approximately 800 photographs by British photographer Denis O’Regan, some of which have never been previously exhibited. O’Regan has documented Bowie since 1983, amassing an archive of over 10,000 images.

The exhibition utilizes L-Acoustics L-ISA spatial audio technology to create a multi-sensory experience, projecting images across eight screens accompanied by Bowie’s music, commentary from O’Regan, and new compositions by pianist Mike Garson. Developed in cooperation with David Bowie’s estate, the installation is located at Lazzaretto Vecchio and is scheduled to remain on view until September 12. Due to the nature of the installation, sessions are limited to 45 minutes with a daily cap of 100 visitors per time slot.
