Death of Antiparos Mayor Anastasios Faroupos

Overview

Anastasios Faroupos, the 61-year-old Mayor of Antiparos, died following a motorcycle accident on a Friday night. Reports indicate he was riding a scooter alone when he lost control and fell; he was discovered by a passerby and died at the scene. Faroupos, a former accountant who worked for the Ministry of Finance, had served three consecutive terms as mayor.
